The National Thermal Spray Center, CENAPROT is a National laboratory in Queretaro, Mexico grounded in CINVESTAV in collaboration with CIATEQ CENAPROT possess infrastructure and equipment required for the scientific research and technological innovation in the field of thermal spray. CENAPROT comes into begin in 2014 as a part of the national laboratories program call from CONACYT in that year.

CENAPROT, National Laboratory has state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure of international level aimed to accomplish high level scientific research, technological development related to thermal spraying, formation of high level human resources as well as to offer a wide variety of services and assessment to industrial, scientific and academic sectors.

CENAPROT, offers a wide variety of services and processing techniques among the variations of thermal spray systems such as:                                     

• Electric insulator coatings.
• Thermal Barrier coatings (TBC).
• Wear-repair coatings.

Available processing techniques include:

• High Velocity Oxygen-Fuel coating (HVOF).
• High Velocity Air-Fuel coating (HVAF).
• High Velocity Oxygen-Liquid fuel coating (HVOLF).
• Atmospheric plasma spray (APS).
• Low temperature coatings COLD SPRAY.

 Available monitoring systems include:

• Oseir’s SprayWatch diagnostics and control system.
• Tecnar’s DPV Particle Characterization system.
• Tecnar’s Accura Spray Monitoring system.
• Reliacoat’s In-Situ Coating properties measurements (ICP).

In CENAPROT we are committed to research projects as well as with the formation of scientists, researchers and high level human resources capable of facing technological challenges in the thermal spray field both in industry and research centers related to biomedicine, engineering, aeronautic and automotive industries.
