- Dr. Juan Muñoz Saldaña. (Head of CENAPROT)
Dr. Juan Muñoz Saldaña, Dr.-Ing. degree from the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg (2001). He is a Professor and Full faculty member of Materials Science and Engineering at Cinvestav in Queretaro since 2003, National researcher level II and member of the Mexican Sciences Academy. The research lines of the laboratory are related to the synthesis, processing and characterization of advanced oxide materials in bulk and coatings (bioceramics, multifunctional ceramics and ceramics for high temperature applications) with special focus on the interplay between structure, processing, microstructure and properties. A major concern of the group is the study of the non-linear electro-mechanical behavior Perovskites and its potential use in sensors, actuators, etc. Dr. Muñoz Saldaña has over 100 publications mostly related to multifunctional ceramics and leaded or took part in more than 30 national and international research projects. Recently awarded with Georg Foster fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt foundation.

- Dr. Lorena Perez-Andrade
Associate Research Professional (THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA - College of Engineering)
She performs research on the correlation of processing (cold spray, laser-assisted cold spray), microstructure (grain size, precipitates), and mechanical properties (strength, ductility) of metallic materials (aluminum alloys and nickel-based superalloys) for repair applications. She works on research projects funded by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) to evaluate cold spray and laser-assisted cold spray as a repair technique. She runs the Alabama Atomization Facility where she processes metallic powders (aluminum alloys, steel alloys, nickel-based alloys, copper alloys, and high entropy alloys) by gas atomization used for additive manufacturing and thermal spray technologies.
